ART is MUSIC

Another new creation, this one with a dual message. Study this carefully and you will see how these Islands and the foreground have a musical message.

MORNING SHIMMER

I created this acrylic painting to depict the variety of , colors reflecting and focus in and out, as the water shimmers. The sun is coming from the top, thus creating the ducks and grasses in shadow only.

I built this inukshuk while painting in British Columbia and thought I'd like to paint it sometime.  For some people it means "good Luck".  For me, it meant many hours of pleasure to paint with my acrylics, the "good Luck" could be a bonus though.

I can't believe my Last Post was in July.....

Its not that I haven't been busy painting, I lost track of my last post, and didn't think it had been that long ago.  I had planned to post once a month and will make more of an effort.
In August I went to Gibsons B.C. and took a week long course from Micheal O'toole.  Here are some of the results.....
I am amazed at this new acrylic technique, and love the results.....

.....this painting also turned out amazing except that I'm a better artist than a photographer.... lol .......

Mosaic

I created this watercolor painting using the pouring method, and I 'm quite pleased with the results.  This method enables me to to keep loose as I tend to try to tighten my work and results in being overworked.  You can view "Mosaic" at the Ingersoll Creative Art Center, in the gift shop.
Next month I am pleased to attend a week long workshop in BC with Micheal O'toole. I intend to brush up on my acrylic skills and I love his work. Will keep you posted

Geneva Park Forest

I painted these two 8x10 acrylics at Geneva Park this past September when the COAA had their annual conference.  It was a beautifull plen air experience and Geneva Park is a wonderfull scenic locale.  Thank you to Allison Robichaud for his direction and advise, I will always be a better painter.  If you want to view these paintings, they will be on display at the Ingersoll Library beginning October 6, 2011

Looking Back

I painted "Looking Back" using the pouring technique.  It was a great learning experience and I thoroughly enjoyed this technique.

TRIO OF TRILLIUMS

This spring I painted this Trio of Trillium's, feeling patriotic to Canada and specifically my province of Ontario. I've always loved the blanket of trilliums waving in the fields in the early spring.  I've had the three watercolors professionally, archival, framed in black and they look wonderful.  My colleagues have encouraged me and agree that I ended with great  results.

MY FRIEND

This portrait "My Friend" is one of my first, the meduim is watercolor, 8 by 10. I tried to capture her character and personality as oppossed to photorealism.  My motto to photorealism is, "I might as well frame the photo if I want it to look like the photo"
