GREEDS' TRAP

This 10 x 14 acrylic is self explanatory.  I have passion for  all living creatures.  Recently, at the awards, Leonardo DiCapprio couldn't have said it better by savaging corporate greed of big oil, "enough is enough".

MA?

Showing at the Fur, Fin and Feather Exhibit is my 23 x 28 watercolor. This was a fun project manipulating colors in water and allowing them to meld and flow throughout the body of the young elephant.  Once dry, I enhanced the shapes of the limbs and head ect.. The background was just play, isn't that what artists who love what they do, do?
This painting among several others,  will be on display at the Ingersoll Creative Art Center http://creativeartscentre.com/  from March 13 to April 10, don't miss out. See previous post for map and details.

16 STROKES

I attended a one week workshop by Patti Mollica in June, at Hudson River Valley Art Workshop www.ArtWorkshops.com
This acrylic painting was a result of a 15 stroke exercise, the 16th stroke is the red edge, hence the title.  I challenge every artist to try this,  it's an easy way to help you loosen up in your artwork.

DISAPPEARING AGRICULTURAL BUILDINGS

I've been feeling nostalgic toward the disappearing farm buildings as I see them crumbling down more and more over the years. Reproducing them in my interpretation is my way of preserving them.

THE POPPIES GROW ART SHOW

WALTZING POPPIES 2   SOLD

" ECHOES "
Was painted in mixed media as a statement.  Although poppies are cheerful, colorful and lively, there is none of that in war.  In the painting the poppies are wilted and sad, as they drift off into the distance they appear to turn into a pool of blood.  The crosses in the foreground depict the graves of our brave soldiers, they are green as the grass as they have now become one. We must never forget the soldiers in the trenches. Because out of sight is out of mind, I  chose to also include the morbidity of the subject.

WALTZING POPPIES

These poppies I painted for the show has sold quite fast, I am in the process of painting a similar one for another interested art lover.  If you can't make it out for the opening, you have two months to see the show.
