Where have all the Children Gone?

The title is based on the poem/song written by Joseph Kerschbaum. My 16x20 acrylic speaks of todays' pandemic times, when our children are forbidden to use the playgrounds.  All remains are their laughter, gestures and entities. #acrylicart #covid19artexhibit #ontarioartist #stayathome #artoftheday

Having to stop dancing due to the pandemic accompanies many negative emotions.  Painting these emotional figures is my therapy.

Expressing my passion during this pandemic

Alone, Yet Self Absorbed,
12x18 watercolor on yupo paper.  While in solitude during this covid19 pandemic, I thought I'd paint myself, painting myself.

Food for Thought (donated)
8x20 watercolor.  Thank you to everyone who participates in helping others during these troubled times. Keep up the good work.

Missing my Friends,
11x14 watercolor.  I miss my friends during these challenging times.

New World 2020,
12x16 watercolor. Many signs of  todays' times, can you spot them all in this painting?  There are at least 5 innuendos.

Pandemic Blues
12x16 watercolor, as in the many colors of blue, not the sad blue.  Whats your interpretation?

WINSTON AND ANASTASIA (not available for Sale)

It was amazing to watch this couple compete.  I took some photographs and this 16x20 acrylic is based on one of the photos.  Winston Tam and Anastasia Novikoka represent Canada in the world Latin and 10 dance amateur championship.

Pas de Deux (SOLD)

For my love of dancing I created "Pas de Deux", 20 x 26 watercolor.   Experimenting on mylar for this painting has opened up a whole new world for me.  If you look closely at the texture in the artwork, you will notice how the paint puddled on the surface before it dried allowing time for the colors to granulate.  Similar effect you get when paint on yupo, so much fun.

Hugs and Kisses

This 22 x 28 watercolor is painted on Yupo paper.  Yupo is a unique synthetic surface that prevents absorption of the paint thus making this technique quite challenging.  Next, I will try acrylic inks on Yupo, stay tuned...

Etosha

Etosha is a tryptich that was painted on three canvases, each measuring 12"x 48".  Thank you Norm Antonio for the reference photograph.  I'm looking forward to submitting this piece into juried shows.  One day I hope to visit Africa and see these wonderful wild beast with my own eyes.
